Class Description: This class will teach you how to witness the world as a songwriter. Classes will consist of group discussions, lectures, and song circles as we explore six critical topics of songwriting: Lyrics, Chords & Melody, Arrangement, Drafting & Re-drafting, finding your voice, and creating demo recordings of your songs. You will act as listeners, critical thinkers, poets, writers, humans, observers, and researchers as we learn to build from a few chords to a well-rounded song. No music theory background is necessary, and all levels of musical knowledge are welcome.
Instructor Bio: Zak Kendall is a Maine Musician and songwriter that co-fronts the Indie/folk band GoldenOak. Since 2015 the band has self-booked tours all across the east coast and Maritime Canada and has developed a strong and grown fan base along the way.
Registration: $50 non-members / $25 members
