Instructor Bio: My name is Andy Hurtt, and I am a professional graphic designer and educator. I started my graphic design career over twenty years ago in the New York City area, working with a variety of clients including BMW, Sony Music, and Tower Records. I moved to Maine in 2003 to pursue a Master’s Degree at the University of Maine, and ended up finding much more than that. I found a community, a career, and a place to call home.
I have worked in a variety of capacities in graphic design, including advertising, branding, layout, signage and grand format printing. I have designed advertising campaigns, created branding, marketing materials, large scale exposition spaces and packaging materials. Since moving to Maine I’ve worked with a wide range of clients, including the New England Patriots, the National Hockey League, Van Syckle Kia and Orono Brewing Company.
I have over ten years of teaching experience at the postsecondary level. I have taught and developed courses in live, online and hybrid formats for the University of Maine and Eastern Maine Community College. Course topics including but not limited to; digital illustration, page layout, graphic design, photo editing and advertising campaigns.
